This shirt is made from antique linen bedding, c.1880-1900. The fabric was embellished with drawnwork, a needlework technique in which threads are cut away and the remaining threads are bound together in a geometric pattern. The maker also embroidered large, silk-stitched circles onto the linen. Hand-mending throughout.
